Inside the Mind of Anthony Levandowski: The AI Church Revolution

Published on: March 10, 2024

Anthony Levandowski, known for his significant contributions to autonomous vehicle technology at Google and Uber, has relaunched his 'Way of the Future' church. This church, blending technology with spirituality, aims to foster a deeper understanding of artificial intelligence (AI) and its potential impact on society.

Initially founded in 2015, the Way of the Future was briefly discontinued in 2021 and has now returned with a focus on building a spiritual connection with AI. Levandowski sees AI's advancement as a potential pathway to engaging with what might be considered divine, raising philosophical and ethical questions about AI's role in human decision-making and values.

Levandowski's journey with the church hasn't been without controversy. He faced legal challenges in 2017 for stealing trade secrets, leading to a guilty plea and a subsequent pardon in 2021 by then-President Donald Trump. Post-pardon, he founded Pollen Mobile and revived his AI church, attracting a community interested in the confluence of technology and faith.
