Generative AI, a technology adept at creating persuasive text, voice, and images, is now widely accessible through platforms like ChatGPT and open source models. This proliferation has led the NCSC to predict a significant rise in cyber-attacks and their subsequent impact over the coming years. The agency, part of the esteemed GCHQ spy agency, emphasizes that the integration of generative AI and large language models, the backbone of chatbots, will notably complicate the identification of cyber threats, including spoof messages and social engineering tactics.
