OpenAI, the creator of ChatGPT, is broadening its horizons to nurture the next generation of AI innovation with the launch of 'Converge 2.' This initiative invites ambitious individuals, regardless of their AI background or usage of OpenAI's products, to apply for substantial support in turning their ideas into reality.
Sam Altman, co-founder and CEO of OpenAI, along with CTO and former interim CEO Mira Murati, recently shared details about 'Converge 2' on the social platform X. The program not only offers a significant funding opportunity but also provides access to a wealth of informational and educational resources.
Prospective founders are encouraged to apply through a streamlined process that requires minimal initial information about their vision. OpenAI's Startup Fund, which is facilitating this second iteration following the successful launch of the first Converge program in December 2022, will select 10 to 15 companies for a $1 million investment each.
The chosen startups will engage in a six-week program, dedicating a maximum of six hours per week, to refine their concepts and business strategies with guidance from experts. This initiative is especially valuable for those at the pre-seed or early ideation stages of company development.
